Le
Corbusier
"From
1947 on, Le Corbusier made his invention, duly protected by patent,
public: the first book devoted to it appeared in 1948: Le Modulor.
The second volume was published in 1954. Without receiving any kind
of propaganda or promotion, the Modulor idea spread all over the
world, and was enthusiastically taken up by countless professional
architects and designers, particularly the younger ones. It must
be noted, of course, that the world was ready for such a system...We
can see how it brings out the practical, concrete applications of
research, making possible its harmonious development and its influence
in social, economic and spiritual matters, paving the way for innovation
and progress, such is the strength of these principles!"
